Every now and then while making my routine stop at the magazine rack, I grab a copy of the latest Architectural Digest along with my usual fashion magazines.
Ok… I know what your thinking lol , “Architectural Digest?”. The answer to that question is yes. Fashion and architecture are two of the many things in life that seem to overlap. Often times we flip through our latest fashion mags for inspiration , or just to simply stay current with whats trending . I cant help but to think that architecture does the same exact thing for designers as an issue of InStyle does for its readers.
The designer of my A.W.A.K.E stripe detail top Natalia Alaverdian , has a unique take on fashion. As I flipped through the latest issue of Architectural Digest, I came across an architect by the name of Daniel Libeskind. As I read about his work I couldn’t help but to notice how the buildings he designed reminded me so much of my A.W.A.K.E top. Funny I know lol , you are probably thinking how could one make that comparison . Now I’m not sure of Natalia or Daniel’s inspiration for their work , but artistically these two have a lot in common.
In addition to the architect and design sections, the lifestyle section is also one of my favorites. With tying together the architectural aspect along with travel and fashion. So my inspiration sparks start to fly, this day I was totally feeling Art Deco vibes. Fitting for both luxury and leisure, I decided to team this sculptural style top with my high-waisted By Johnny pencil skirt to temper the details. Finishing off my walking work of art (as I always like to say lol) with my handmade To’sha Neomie DeMay Emoji bag.
