Now that we have officially skipped over leather jacket weather , its time to get into the heavy artillery…
One of my favorite contemporary staples is definitely a wool overcoat for more reasons than one. With applique jackets being on trend this season, my Mira Mikati fly away coat definitely stands out all while fitting in lol. An interesting twist on your classic double-breasted overcoat, which is normally a classic black or camel color and associated with a more tailored look. . Typically I would prefer a single-breasted coat as they are in my opinion a lot more minimal and clean.
As the wind chill begins to drop, the need for layering becomes detrimental to staying warm all while still looking cute lol. Lets face it there is no fun in being cute and cold. Overcoats are typically cut a bit wider making it easy to layer with other garments. Whether draped over the shoulders or worn with a chunky knit sweater for a more relaxed look. The layering ability is what makes the overcoat my go-to outerwear piece.
Don’t own an overcoat yet? My advice is to invest in one. Aside from keeping you warm and fashionable (remember say no to being cute and cold), it is truly an investment. We all know that fads come and go and the times change ,yet the overcoat has stood the test of time.
