A Little Touch of Red 3D

Lets face it, from childhood to adulthood playing dress up is just one thing that can never go out of style. So when I laid eyes on this Red 3D  Junya Watanabe  COMME des GARCONS honeycomb cape I just could not resist. Ok… I know what your thinking, and I couldn’t agree with you more. Yes this is a major statement piece…..  

While this may not be an everyday piece ,and I will probably only wear it every once in a while, it was perfect for this dress up session. Here I paired it with my Dion Lee filtered leather skirt. I’m sure many of you may have items in the closet that are totally forgotten about. I encourage you to mix the old with the new. I’ve had this skirt for about two years and I’ve always worn it 3D filter side to the back until now. I decided to switch things up a bit and turn the skirt around to give it a whole new look. I also played around with the placement of the cape a bit. From zip up front cape which can easily be worn jacket style with a simple white tank and light denim for a more casual look, to poncho which can easily be worn over a simple dress. What I love about this cape  aside from the vibrant red color and 3D architecture, is that you can play with the placement. My options aren’t  limited to just wearing it as a draped cape.

So the next time that you come across that piece that makes you want to go home and play in the mirror, go for it. I plan to have some real dress up fun with this piece.
